Ben Walker has held various roles under significant construction contracts including Service Manager on a major highways and transportation NEC3 TSC. Ben also works a few days a month as an NEC Trainer for Thomas Telford, delivering a range of training courses and workshops across the NEC family to all of the major sectors. This mix of extensive site experience and deep understanding of contract procedure continues to drive the practical and successful CEMAR concept. Ben’s primary role in the company is to ensure the end user’s experience remains simple, compliant, flexible and effective.

Andy Walker has extensive experience as a contracts manager in the construction and leasing industry. Throughout his career he has developed software solutions focused on streamlining company administration and improving workflow. Andy is an accomplished programmer and web-application developer, bringing these skills together with several decades of practical contracting experience.

We are supported by an excellent team of in-house programmers and infrastructure experts, affording us complete control over the evolution of our ‘Software as a Service’ solution.

CEMAR is a fully hosted web-application developed to assist project teams in achieving recognised best practice and compliance under the NEC3 and other forms of contract. It realises the true benefits of NEC; delivering massive improvement to tracking communications, event management and reporting over manual or spread sheet methods.

With the functions of the employer, consultant and contractor in mind, CEMAR enables project teams to manage their contracts efficiently and effectively by:

· enabling site based or dispersed project teams to work closely over a secure on-line environment accessible via any internet enabled PC with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9 or Apple Safari (no installs or downloads required);

· providing a gateway approach to NEC3 procedures - user compliance and awareness of pending responsibilities including colour coded reminders, automated audit log and document archiving;

· incorporating modules for early warnings, compensation events, task orders, technical queries, tests & inspections, searches & defects, proposed instructions or changed decisions and much more - integrated system workflow moves information onto the next person in the notify / instruct / submit / review / accept / reject process;

· using simple shared colour coded registers of contract events and matters;

· linking events and matters to each other through user added and automated associations;

· attach and upload photos, spread sheets, drawings, programmes and most other files;

· proactively notifying users of outstanding actions - on-screen reminders and automated email alerts;

· enabling project and portfolio level reports to be created from real-time information – with a huge range of standard or user definable reports and charts, all of which are easily exported to popular Microsoft Office applications;

· priming the system with the key elements of Contract Data and 'z' clauses - specific contract requirements are elevated and prominent within the system;

· providing a single portal for multiple projects - users working on multiple projects login once and select which of their projects they wish to work on;

· tracking timescales, approval authority and levels of system access; all fully definable on a user-by-user, project-by-project basis;

· familiar controls and layouts making the system highly intuitive and easy to use. Minimal training is required.
